Likened to the work of Angela Carter, the poem takes a dark look at the role of women through time and the effects of colonialist and capitalist behaviours on people and the environment.

Since its original showing in 2013, the poem has been reworked by writer, Elisabeth Charis, in close collaboration with editors, Inua Ellams and Hannah Silva; acclaimed animator, Emma Reading; award winning musician/composer, Steve Tromans; renowned percussionist, Mark Robertson, and sound artist, Soesen Eden. The finished piece is a negotiation of music, animation, sound and language exploring how stories respond to and create cultural identities.

You can see much more about the project and read some reviews here.

Watch the film poem here. ‘Eden Reborn [is] both a fascinating and beautiful journey through a story that resonates so much with todays society.
